ChatGPT Abandoned Cart Prompt
What It Is
The Abandoned Cart Flow is an automated sequence of 2–4 emails sent to visitors who added products to their cart but did not complete checkout.
Its purpose is to remind them what they left behind, address objections, and nudge them back to complete their purchase.
Goal of the Flow
- Recover lost revenue by bringing high-intent shoppers back to checkout.
- Reinforce trust and product value (social proof, benefits, and risk reducers).
- Overcome common objections (shipping cost, product performance, decision delay).
- Drive urgency with time-sensitive offers (optional).
When It Sends
- Trigger: Subscriber added product(s) to cart but did NOT complete checkout.
- Sequence Timing (Example 3-Email Structure):
- Email 1: 1–4 hours after abandonment – Gentle reminder + product block.
- Email 2: 20–24 hours later – Social proof (reviews/testimonials).
- Email 3 (Optional): 48–72 hours later – Urgency push (limited stock or expiring discount).
- Exclusions:
- Anyone who has completed checkout after abandonment.
- Suppressed/unengaged contacts.
